Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 7 October 2026
These terms and conditions govern your use of the CROSS website (the “Site”). By accessing or using the Site you agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
The Site is operated by CROSS (Cross Cancer Research), a registered charity (CHY 389874 · RCN 20052850), Department of Surgery, Trinity Centre for Health Sciences, St James’s Hospital, Dublin 8, Ireland.
1. Use of the Site
You may use the Site for lawful, personal and non-commercial purposes only. You agree not to:
- use the Site in any way that breaches any applicable law or regulation;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, its server, or any connected system;
- introduce malicious code or interfere with the Site’s operation;
- reproduce, copy or resell any part of the Site except as permitted below.
2. Intellectual property
All content on the Site — including text, graphics, logos, images and video — is owned by or licensed to CROSS and is protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws. You may view and print content for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not otherwise reproduce, distribute or exploit any content without our prior written permission.
3. Donations
Donations to CROSS are voluntary and are made by direct bank transfer to our charity bank account using the details published on our Donate page. No payments are processed through the Site. By donating you confirm that you are using your own account and authorised funds.
Donations are generally non-refundable. If you believe a donation was made in error, please contact us at info@crosscharity.ie and we will consider your request in good faith. Where a donation has clearly been made in error — for example, the wrong amount was sent — we will refund it.
CROSS does not currently participate in the Irish Charitable Donation Scheme, so tax relief cannot be claimed on donations to us at this time. We may introduce this in the future.
4. Health and medical information
Some pages (for example, Patient Information) provide general information about cancer, treatment and research for educational purposes only. This information is not medical advice and is not a substitute for consultation with a qualified healthcare professional. Always seek the advice of your doctor or other qualified clinician with any questions about a medical condition. CROSS accepts no liability for any action taken on the basis of information provided on the Site.
5. External links
The Site may contain links to third-party websites (for example, St James’s Hospital, partner institutions, or media coverage). These links are provided for convenience only. We have no control over, and accept no responsibility for, the content or practices of any third-party site.
6. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. While we take care to keep information accurate and up to date, we make no warranties or representations as to its completeness or accuracy. To the fullest extent permitted by law, CROSS shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Site. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Irish law.
7. Privacy
Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your personal data.
8. Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page, and your continued use of the Site constitutes acceptance of any changes.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
10. Contact
For any questions about these terms, contact us at info@crosscharity.ie or by post at the address above.
